FIELD’s alternative adult high school diploma program serves re-entry high school students ages 18-25 through a partnership with a state-wide accredited adult school. Since August 2009, more than 120 students have received high school diplomas through this program. Students are exposed to appropriate grade level standards through direct instruction, guided instruction and individual work. The school hours are flexible and allow students to work and attend school. Students have the opportunity to obtain their GED prior to their diploma as well as to take the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) multiple times a year. FIELD offers classes in the cities of Arvin and Shafter, and Tehachapi in Kern County and in the city of Gridley in Butte County. Career technical training is available in education and environmental conservation through tutoring, assistant teaching, naturalist work, and conservation projects.
