Congress Votes To Create Independent Immigration Court

The House Judiciary Committee voted 24-12 to approve the creation of an independent immigration court. This bill has been advocated for year by National Immigration Judges Association, lawyers, and its three democratic representatives sponsoring the bill. It will now move to a vote by the entire House.
The bill creates three divisions of the Washington-DC based court: a trial division, an appellate division, and an administrative division.
