EPIC High School
EPIC de Cesar Chavez High School

EPIC is the WASC accredited charter high school program of FIELD and is FREE to adults looking to earn their high school diploma. Students are taught in a traditional school setting with instructors who understand both their cultural background and academic struggles. Curriculum delivery is intensive and aligned with California State Standards. EPIC operates in California and currently there are over 20 LOCATIONS statewide that serve students through in-class and distance education in four regions.

EPIC’s academic program targets remediation and basic skill development, English as a Second Language, and credit recovery leading to a high school diploma for students over the age of 18. In addition, Work Experience and Career Technical Education career pathways courses with industry recognized certificates that are integrated with community college courses are available. For students interested in a university pathway, EPIC also offers college preparatory classes. Transcripts from past educational institutions are accepted, including out of country transcripts that reflect grades nine and higher.

EPIC has graduated more than 1,000 students in the past five years. Flexibility in bell schedules and class scheduling is the key to keeping our EPIC students engaged. Our students are adults with jobs and families. By providing both AM and PM class meeting times, distance education options, school credit for a Vocational Education programs, and a variety of Career Technical Education classes, our students are able to customize their schedules. Our EPIC programs provide both a high school diploma and a certificate of completion in the career track of one's choice all FREE OF COST to our students, making our EPIC High School unique from other adult schools.

Free and Reduced Lunches

FIELD / EPIC is currently operating under a special COVID-19 waiver put in place by the USDA which allows all students to receive meals for FREE for the entirety of 2021-2022. However, our school relies on families completing the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application for educational funding throughout the year. It also may help give qualifying families discounts on home services such as cable, internet, etc. Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals if your household income falls at or below
the federal Income Eligibility Guidelines.

Wellness Policy

FIELD-EPIC developed a Wellness Policy that is focused on improving the overall health and well-being of our students. The policy was adopted in 2020 to inform our students of the various options available to them and further support their wellness goals. These ongoing efforts are reviewed by the School Wellness Committee which includes teachers, students, administrators, mental health and social services staff, along with representatives of the school's nutrition program. Our committee meets twice a year to assess the program and look for ways to better incorporate habits that support a healthy lifestyle for not only our students, but the staff and community at large.
