US-Mexico Border Could Be Patrolled By Robot Dogs

The Department of Homeland Security is testing robot dogs as a way to monitor the harsh terrain along the border between Mexico and the United States. These “dogs” are meant to accompany Border Patrol agents, not replace them. There is currently no timeline for the deployment of these robot dogs.
The robotic dogs have been tested in situations that could be dangerous to human agents, such as tight spaces, high heat, low oxygen, and steep terrain.
